New TVI Design website

1 Dec 2008 | Jon Hobbs-Smith
After many weeks of hard work we've finally launched our new website. What do you think?

You'll probably have noticed by now that you're reading our new blog, which we'll be using to keep everybody up-to-date with our movements, product launches and promotional offers, along with some thoughts and advice on web design and development that we hope you'll find useful.

We'd love to hear your feedback, so if you've spotted a spelling mistook, have a useful suggestion, or just fancy a chat then don't hesitate to call us, or drop me a line on jon@tvidesign.co.uk

Hi Jon,

I like your site and very clean and you have done a good job hiding away functionality while still allowing it to be discoverable. I love the colours and typography.

My only concern is that there is alot of functionality that doesn't degrade when javascript is not enabled. For example there is no way to contact you guys if js is turned off - at least that could link to a contact page?

I am an asp.net developer and am aware of a few things that are pretty bad, such as linkbuttons which use javascript to cause a post back. You turn off js, and they stop working! For example your register button on the http://www.ikostore.com/register.aspx site.

Sorry to come off sounding negative, just my 2c
Cheers
Jake

Hi,

I have to disagree with Jake above.
You turn off javascript and half the pages on the net stop working!!

Personally I think that anyone who surfs the net without javascript deserves all they get. It's a bit like saying most of Google's software is rubbish because it uses javascript.

I am a web developer with many years experience and I really like this site. The colours are good, the balance of styles and layout are good and the volume of content is appropriate.

One day when I'm not so busy I'll upgrade my business site to look more like this.

Cheers,

David
